Custom pricing isn't mysterious, it just has more inputs: footage, the materials mix, design complexity, retaining wall engineering, curves and stepped sections, gates, and site access. We don't do vague allowances that grow later. We measure and design at your free on-site assessment, you get your quote fast, and the number we quote is the number you pay.

Bring whatever you have: a sketch, saved photos, or just the problem. At the free on-site assessment we measure, check grade and utilities, and talk through materials and details, lattice tops, caps, built-in planters, with samples where they help. You get a concrete proposal with your fast quotes, and on involved designs we refine the drawings with you before anything gets scheduled.

Yes, and it's better as one project. The wall holds the grade, the drainage protects both structures, and the fence rides a level top line. Split the work between two contractors and the seams show, usually at the drainage. The retaining wall combos in the photos above are our builds.

Yes, when it's built like furniture instead of fencing. Texas sun and clay punish sloppy horizontal work: boards need to be dry and select-grade, posts closer together and dead plumb, steel posts on exposed runs. Built that way, a horizontal slat fence keeps its lines. Built cheap, it sags and cups by its second summer, and you'll see it from the street.

Cedar, almost every time. It's stable, takes stain evenly, and resists rot and insects on its own, which matters when a design puts wood near soil and steel. Pressure-treated pine has its place in framing and budget runs, but it moves more as it dries, and custom work is exactly where you notice movement. If a design calls for specialty lumber, ipe or thermally modified boards, we'll source it and price it against cedar honestly.

That's half our custom book. Steel posts carrying cedar, welded frames with wood infill, iron panels breaking up long cedar runs. The metal is fabricated in our own welding shop and detailed so the wood can move against the steel without opening gaps. One company builds both halves, so nobody blames the other trade.

Yes. We measure and photograph what's standing, match the picket profile, cap detail and height, and stain-match with our Wood Defender certified crew so the new section blends in instead of shouting. It's a common request after a storm takes out one run of an otherwise good fence.

It depends on the city and the build. Fence rules vary across North DFW, and retaining walls can bring their own review; some cities ask for engineering on taller walls. HOAs almost always want drawings for anything nonstandard, and drawings are exactly what we prepare. We confirm all of it at the free on-site assessment, before you commit to a design.

The same as our standard cedar work, typically 15 to 20 years, because the bones are the same: Western Red Cedar, posts deep in concrete, drainage that keeps water moving. Steel posts and frames outlast the boards around them, which makes mixed builds easy to re-skin years from now instead of rebuilding.

Yes. Curves get laid out as short straight segments on extra posts until the line reads as a sweep, and the same approach handles angled corners and non-square lots. It takes more layout and more posts than a straight run, which is a quote factor, not a reason to say no.

Regularly. We price and build from their drawings, flag constructability problems before they get expensive, source specified materials or honest equivalents, and coordinate with the other trades on site. Stone columns, laser-cut panels and glass sections come up in designer drawings, and we'll tell you straight which parts our shop self-performs and which we coordinate.

Whatever its materials need, and we tell you before you choose them. Cedar wants stain on the schedule our Wood Defender certified crew recommends for your boards. Steel wants coating scratches touched up before rust starts. Hardware wants a seasonal once-over. Mixed builds don't double the work, they just split it.

Every custom build carries the same workmanship warranty as our standard fences, on top of top quality materials. If a joint, post, weld or gate fails because of how we built it, we come back and make it right. Custom doesn't mean experimental: you get the warranty because we've built it before.
